Adult Programs

The Agincourt Tennis Club offers tennis fun for both adults and juniors alike through its many social events, training programs and team play.

No matter which social event you choose to join, the Winter Social, Grand Club Opening, Touch of Wimbledon, Fun Night, one of the many weekly Round Robin or Drop-in socials, a good time is what you will have.

For the more serious members who wish to improve their skills and techniques, ATC offers adult lessons from certified instructors and host a number of Inter-Club teams that compete against other neighbouring Tennis Clubs.

Single, a couple, or a family, the Agincourt Tennis Club has just the right mix of fun and competitiveness for all. (Click on the Handout "ATC Newsletter" below for all the up coming and current happenings).

Weekly Round Robin Night
Want to play tennis but can’t find a playing partner for a fun match? Well at the Agincourt Tennis Club you don’t have to, we’ll do it for you. At the beginning of every week, the “Weekly Round Robin Night” event allow all members to simply come on down to the courts for some organized tennis matches. No partners required, the club will arrange foursomes (of equal playing skills) from all the members who show up, in fact we will also provide balls to use as well as some light refreshments to quench their thirst. Round robin play in men’s, ladies & mixed doubles, is the course of the evening for all members regardless of their playing level. This event is one of our most popular social events where you can play tennis and meet new and old members in a non-competitive friendly environment. New members are especially welcome and encouraged to participate.

Weekly Drop-in Social Night
One night of tennis just not good enough for you? Well at the Agincourt Tennis Club, we have just the thing, the weekly Drop-In Social night. On most Friday nights, like the “Weekly Round Robin Night”, members can simply come on down to the courts for some organized tennis matches. Adult Lessons
Got the need and desire to play better tennis but don’t know where to start? Well look no further because the Agincourt Tennis Club can get you started on the right path to better tennis. Adult Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Lessons are all offered here at the Club, to help you improve your skills for a better game and satisfaction of play. Private or group lessons are available from certified instructors/coaches during the months of May, June, July & August. Pre-registration is required, so act now, and book youself for a better tennis life.

Adult Spring Tune-up
Need to brush up on your tennis skills after hibernating all Winter? Well the Agincourt Tennis Club has just the thing for you. Starting each season in early May, the Agincourt Tennis Club hosts a string of ?Spring Tune-Up? session for all intermediate and experienced members. Run by certified instructors/coaches, these sessions will help you get back in form in no time flat, There is a nominal fee for these sessions and pre-registration is required as space is limited.

Early Bird Winter Special
Every year the Agincourt Tennis Club hosts a Winter Social in February/March to kick start the ?Earlybird? registration. Food and indoor round robin tennis fun is the menu of this event for all new and returning members who register on this day. There is a nominal fee charged for this event and RSVP is required.

The "Early Bird" rate is a reduced membership fee for all membership categories and only applies on applications received on or before the Winter Social event. Come to the Winter Social event to register or mail your application in by the Winter Social date to receive the "Early Bird" discount rate. Please note, "Early Bird" cheques must not be post-dated after the Winter Social Date.
Official Club Opening
Each year we celebrate the re-opening of our fabulous courts with the "Official Grand Opening" Event. This event is held usually on the first Saturday in May, and kick starts our new season with great food and tennis fun & games for both adults and junior members alike. Registration for all club events/programs will also be available on this day with many of the Executive team around to answer any questions you may have concerning the Club and it's many great events and programs. Occasionally we will have some special guests to help make this event even more interesting and special, so come on down on Opening Day and meet the gang.

Touch of Wimbledon
When England celebrates tennis with it's Wimbledon Tournament, so does the Agincourt Tennis Club by hosting its very own "Touch of Wimbledon" event. While the matches at Wimbledon are fast and furious, we at the ATC will be enjoying some friendly round robin play and a "Touch of Wimbledon" in the form of Strawberries and Cream (ice-cream that is). A fun time is in the menu for this event, with a taste of jolly old England to boot.

OTA Fun Fair
The OTA Fun Fair is a fun and games event hosted by the "Ontario Tennis Association". Each year the ATC books this fun event at our courts for the enjoyment of our members. Prizes, skill games, give-aways, chance games, demo racquets, t-shirts and tickets to the Toronto Canadian Tennis Masters Series (when available) is the play of the day. There is a minor fee charged by the OTA for hosting this fun event, but is well worth it. In past years we've had such good response and turnouts that we've had to book two sessions, one just for the juniors and one for the adults. A fun and enjoyable event for all skill levels.

Agincourt Night in Rogers Cup
The highlight of summer in Toronto has been the Rogers Cup's week in York University. The world top rank players gathered in Toronto for one week to compete in this prestige event. Agincourt Tennis Club organize an evening session in Rogers Cup with substantial discounts tickets for it’s members.

Taste of Agincourt
Each year we organize an “End of Summer Potluck Party”. In keeping with Toronto’s various ethnic events, we are calling it “Taste of Agincourt”. Bring your favorite culinary delights and sample other authentic foods from other members. To make it even more exciting, we will feature the finals of our club tournament at this event.

End of Year Bash
When the season comes to a close, what better way to close it off but with an End of Season Bash with great food, lots of drinks, fun & games and some more round robin tennis fun (the centre attraction of all our social events). This celebration of another great tennis season is open to both Adult and Junior members where we bid adieu to the previous season.

Inter-club Teams
During the course of the season, the Agincourt Tennis Club participates in several Inter-club leagues in the Scarborough Tennis Federation and the Inter-County Association. These Inter-club leagues offer our members the opportunity to compete (depending on the level of the league) against other club members in a friendly and/or highly competitive match. The Inter-club leagues have a 14 week season with half of the matches played at home (hosting club) and the other half, away. Each Inter-club team will play 5/6 matches each week, consisting of 2/3 Men’s Doubles, 1 Ladies Doubles and 2 Mixed Doubles. There is a nominal fee to play on a team and each team member is selected by the Team Triad Committee. If you are a serious player or just one who wants a fun game with another club, the ATC has just the team for you. Indicate your wish on the application form, come out on one of the try-out days and the Team Triad Committee will do the rest.

Adult Tournament
Each year the ATC hosts a number of tournaments for its club members to partake in and test their tennis play against their fellow members. Men’s & Ladies Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles are all held here. These tournaments are usually held in August after all Inter-club leagues have finished and to allow each member time to practice and fine-tune their tennis skills over the season. Open to all members regardless of playing levels (depending on the number of participants, there may be several category levels with/without consolation draws). So don’t be shy, join in on the fun, you might surprise yourself and be a winner.
